Sportswear brand Craft has teamed up with world-renowned endurance athlete Tommy Rivs. Known for his love of running and contemplative views on hardcore endurance training, Tommy Rivs will play a major role in Craft’s development of innovative high-end running shoes and clothes.
“We are thrilled to work together with Tommy Rivs,” says Craft’s Product & Marketing Director Daniel Högling. “He’s not only an exceptional marathon and ultra-runner but also an amazing individual with a deep understanding of the anatomy of running and endurance training. He will be involved in the R&D process of our running shoes and clothes and help us take our collection to the cutting edge of innovation and performance.”
Professional runner Tommy Rivs is based in Flagstaff, Arizona, which has become the American hub for ultra-running. Among other major feats, his track record includes back-to-back victories at the Rock ’n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon and a finishing time of 2 hours and 18 minutes at the Boston Marathon (16th place) and was a part of Team USA that won the team gold medal in the world championships in Qatar. In addition, he also has a Doctor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University. Just like Craft, Tommy Rivs is psyched about his new partner in running.
“I could not be more stoked about teaming up with Craft,” he says. “Craft has long been at the forefront of innovation, performance, style, and the pursuit of excellence. The people at Craft and the brand itself have the same kind of crazed passion for endurance athletics as I do, which makes a perfect platform for us to grow from as partners. The new running shoes that we are currently developing will undoubtedly set a new standard for racing shoes and exceed the standard of anything available on the market. I’m honored to be a part of this team and to share this journey with the rest of the world.”
Craft and Tommy Rivs are also planning a challenging FKT (Fastest Known Time) venture next spring. More details about this ambitious project will be revealed later.
The collaboration between Craft and Tommy Rivs started on January 1, 2020.
